Munchy Monday and resolution review
Happy February 1st!
It’s been a month now that I’ve been working on most of my new year’s resolutions. Most are going well! Here’s a quick overview after a month of 2010:
1. Eliminate artificial sweeteners – Going strong! I have not had any artificial sweeteners knowingly since the first of the year.
2. Read a book a month – Done! I read the sixth Harry Potter book in January and am already 1/3 into the seventh book.
3. Floss daily – Done! I think I missed two nights in January for flossing, but other than that it’s become part of my nightly routine.
4. Run half marathon – Well, I’m signed up for one in November so it’s a way off. However, I haven’t been running much lately. I’m hoping once the weather warms up some I’ll get back out there.
5. Achieve goal weight of 150 – Working on it! Last I weighed I was down about 5 lbs.
6. Continue Tea at Dusk for one year – The blog is going strong!
7. Practice yoga twice a week – Need to work on this. I’ve only done yoga once in the past month.
I love doing it so I really need to just make the time!
8. Log blood pressure daily – Nope not happening. I started out keeping a log but because my BP is in the normal range again I’ve slacked off. I may need to just amend this resolution to do a weekly check to make sure all is still good.
Overall I’m very happy with the changes I’ve been making in 2010!
Ok on to today’s chow.
Oats, banana, raisins, and flax seed meal. So good and comforting on my first day back at the office.

For lunch I brought all the fixings for a salmon salad sandwich. Woohoo! However, I cut up too many veggies and the sandwich was SUPER thick! I had salmon salad dropping out all over the place while I tried to eat. It was worth it, though. I had an apple with lunch too.

In the afternoon I almost forgot to snap the picture of my orange. It was a good late afternoon snack.

Once home from work Jesse and I worked out together! He did the recumbent bike for 30 minutes and I did the elliptical for 30 minutes. It’s fun doing our cardio together.
Once we were done and showered we had to record the next episode for our podcast. I was STARVING once that was done. It was already 7:30 and we usually like to have dinner around 6:30.
It was a quick, easy, and YUMMO dinner tonight! Basically a taco salad without the shell but with corn chips instead. Mine had lettuce, tomato, peppers and onions, cheese, black beans, and plain greek yogurt. All that topped with some Frank’s hotsauce and eaten with Guiltless Gourmet chips! It was sooo good!

Wow I really wanted more when I was done, but knew I was full. Afterwards we split a piece of German chocolate cake that we brought home from my parents yesterday. A sweet end to a great meal.
I’m feeling bushed already and may turn in early. I think vacation still has me out of whack. There’s gotta be a better way to recover. Any suggestions on how best to recover from a vacation? I just never get my sleeping right until maybe after 3-4 days of work.
Have a great night, all! I’m out!
