It’s a boy!

It’s the last day before returning to work after the long holiday weekend. I’ve had a great holiday and am really looking forward to getting past next week and into the new year!

Today’s plans got a bit shambled in the late morning. First, though, I woke up and had waffles with a drizzle of syrup and my morning bliss, er, coffee.

Don’t you hate the “All natural” buzz words that are showing up on so many products? Exactly what does it mean if a product is “all natural”? Nothing, really, since there isn’t any certification or official aspect associated with these buzz words. Really, it just makes me feel that companies are preying on the consumers that want to be healthier but have not done their research. If it says natural it must be healthy right? Wrong.

Off my soapbox now. ;)

After breakfast the hubster and I sat down to record our weekly podcast. We do a podcast called Monitor Tans which is about PC video games.

Once the podcast was done I noticed I had two calls and an email from my friend Gin. I was planning to meet her at 1:30 and then we were going to go to our friend Gretchen’s baby shower at 2:00 together. Her message was, “Call me now!” Uh oh.

I call her and she informs me that she got the time wrong on the baby shower. It wasn’t at 2:00, it was at 12:00! Crap! It was 11:10 when I got this info. I scrambled to shower, get ready, and get over to Gin’s house. Thankfully we were still mostly in time.

My friend Gretchen is expecting her first child: a boy! (Sorry for catching you with your mouth full, G!)

There was a beautiful spread of snack foods at the shower. I made myself a plate with a small sample of almost everything.

There was also a cute cake. Gretchen and her husband Mike are University of Texas graduates and still huge supporters of their school.

After the shower I hit up Whole Foods for some groceries. By time I got home I was ready for a snack. At WF I had picked up some local pesto and mini pitas. This sounded like a great snack. I love that the mini pitas are baked right here in Houston.

The hubster and I have been watching the Rockets again this evening. Unfortunately they are getting blown out by the Cavs! *fist shake at Lebron James*

I finished off the last of the Christmas leftovers tonight. I LOVE Thanksgiving/Christmas food, but it’s high in calories so I’m glad to be done eating it for another year.

These leftovers were delicious.

It’s time to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening. I may read or play a little World of Warcraft. I know I keep saying this, but I’m so ready for 2010! I have big goals. :)

Do you have any goals for next year?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
